David works with mentally disabled children and local communities. This work is often a spiritual battle as many children are seen as cursed by their families and communities and are therefore denied every right and opportunity. David facilitates community transformation, by helping to teach people how to change, where to start and how to use their own resources.
The work involves helping communities to grow spiritually and to accept children with disabilities as well as to give support and care to children with the HIV/AIDS.
The aim is to help families and communities to:
1) Accept children challenged with disabilities and to enable these kids to reach their full potential.
2) Support the community, church and families to show love and support to vulnerable children.
3) Support children orphaned due to HIV/AIDS.
4) Help the church to act practically in response to their preaching.
5) Empower women to also make full use of their own resources and those of their household.
Please pray for this work:
- For the government to get involved and see disabled people as a priority.
- Please pray for local communities and families, that God will change their attitudes towards disabled children and children with HIV/AIDS, so they become accepted as valuable human beings.
- For wisdom and help as David and his team deal with the root causes of rejection, such as poverty, family and spiritual issues.
- Please pray for passion, energy, focus and strength to David and his team so they can see this vision through.
- Also, please pray for the local people to see their own resources and help to change themselves as well as their communities.
Finally, please pray for the team – they need more people to be trained up to do this work in local communities and for good health and spiritual protection.
Here’s a wonderful quote from David “My dream is for God to help fulfill my passion. My passion is to see people changed! The best partner is the local church. The church can lead the fight against discrimination “.
So, let’s join in prayer for David and his team.
